June 2005
While Roger Federer and Maria Sharapova make
last minute preparations before defending
their titles at Wimbledon, budding young tennis
stars from across Bristol are competing for
their own prizes thanks to a little help from
Barnes Hunter.
The city centre based firm of accountants
has sponsored this year’s Bristol Lawn
Tennis and Squash Club Junior Series Tournament.
The tournament, taking place this week, involves
more than 150 players between the ages of
nine and 18 compete in more than 300 matches.
Mark Hunter, partner at Barnes Hunter, comments:
"We are delighted to be donating funds
to this local event which encourages sport
among Bristol children.
"I play at the Bristol Lawn Tennis and
Squash Club myself so it’s great that
as a firm we can get involved and support
the community in this way."
John Carver head tennis coach and tournament
organiser at the Tennis and Squash Club comments:
"I would like to thank Barnes Hunter
for their contribution to this popular annual
event. The money will be used to fund the
prizes for the various winners throughout
the week."
